Week of firsts

It's been quite the week around here. Caleb will be 10 months in 6 days and I think he's trying to get as much accomplished as he can before he enters the double digits. Let's see, since I last posted he:

-has made pulling himself up onto his knees a regular occurrence
-pushes his toy piano around while on his knees - we refer to it as the upright crawl
-can switch positions from belly to sitting to belly to knees in the blink of an eye
-presses his hand/wrist to his mouth and blows, thus producing questionable noises (he must have learned this at day care)
-now just drops food for Molly to eat - this is no longer an accident

I'm sure in month 10 Caleb will be pulling himself all of the way up and cruising around...which just means we get to baby-proof on a whole new level!

This past weekend my Mom, aka Nana, came to visit. It was great to have her here to catch up and hang out. We watched movies, potted plants, and rode bikes to the farmers market. This is all of us post ride...it was a beautiful day.
Caleb opening a gift. Thank you for the frog Nana!
Just a random cute pic of Caleb eating. Looks like he's got something on his face...
Well this weekend I am off to Columbia (MIZZOU-RAH) for a girls weekend. I think the boys will be able to hold down KC while I'm gone. I can't wait to enjoy some relaxing time at the winery and eat some Shakespeare's! Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Movin' Movin'

Caleb has been spending the last few weeks army crawling around the house with one foot in the air like a sail. Today however, he made his first few attempts at getting up on all fours for some real crawling. Below is a picture capturing this...combined with an unexpected kiss from Molly.

Molly is starting to catch on that having Caleb around isn't all bad:
a. Even though Caleb "pets" her aggressively, it's still attention
b. Molly gets first dibs at all of the food Caleb drops during meal

This morning while Caleb played the piano, he insisted on keeping the spatula in his mouth.

Even when the recital was over, the spatula stayed put.

Trip To Casper

Last weekend we made the trek back to Wyoming to rendezvous with my family in Casper. My sister and her family and my brother drove in from Lander to meet us and we successfully took over my dad's house. My dad and Kate are awesome hosts - we ate great food, enjoyed good company, and got some needed relaxation.

Sam and Caleb definitely enjoyed each other's company. Much of the time was spent with Sam walking around the house and Caleb scooting after him. It was great to see them become aware of each other.

The highlight of the weekend may have been the boys in the pool together. They splashed and played and had a great time together!

The paparazzi stalks it's prey...

Enjoying the swings at the park.

We also enjoyed a picnic on the mountain - we bogarted Matt's hammock, but what can we say, Caleb really likes to lounge.
