Summer is here!

Here are some pictures from the last month or so.  Things have been busy here.  Our biggest change has been August's new job!  Not only is this a shift for August (still mobile app development, but now in an enjoyable setting), but its a shift for us too.  We're now all up and out of the house early every morning - it's crazy to be one of the first in the office - but I also am now either taking or picking up the kids to school every week, which I love.
Alice is growing like a weed - just passed the 18 month mark last week.  Her hair is getting longer, and she is either getting taller or her pants are getting shorter.  She's got a growing vocabulary but clearly understands way more than she can verbalize.  She is still as independent as ever - we spend lots of time re-doing things - I do something, Alice gets mad, I un-do what I did, Alice does it instead.  I'll learn eventually.
August and I both noticed at the same time a week or two ago that Caleb is officially losing his baby face.  He's growing into a boy who constantly asks questions, makes up stories, and still LOVES trains.    He's sweet on his sister and is constantly striving (and being reminded) to set a good example for Alice.  They crack each other up all the time and can be counted on to keep each other busy.

Caleb also has a love for Star Wars.  He's got Millennium Falcon bedding, light sabers, and now - matching Father/Son Star Wars mugs for Father's Day.  His love knows no bounds because he had a bike-a-thon at school and his bike came home with a hand made STR WRZ license plate.  He said "I talk about Star Wars every day."  Imagine when he's old enough to watch all of the movies and be introduced to Jabba the Hut.

Here are Caleb and Alice in their Star Wars tee-shirts.

And Alice's first introduction to bubble wrap!

GO CEREAL!

Caleb was hiding out in a cave watching iPad...but you can't hide long from Alice.

Luckily she was a little distracted by the potty.  We haven't started any training, just pulled it out of storage for an introduction.  A little work left in this area as Alice just sat down with her foot in the pot.

When August is the one getting Alice ready for school, he comes up with the most interesting hair styles.  He has definitely mastered the pony tail.

Now this is a hair style neither of us will master any time soon.  Alice's teachers have a way with her hair and she often comes home looking cuter than when she left.  This was last week's surprise - a crown braid.  It was ADORABLE.  I wish I would have gotten better pictures, it feel out shortly after she rubbed her head all over the car seat.  I'm bribing them to continue fixing her hair like this whenever they want!

We had a good Father's Day here.  August spent his weekend/day getting plowed by the kids, per the usual.  They love to trample him.  I

The Patterson cousins came to visit at the lake this past weekend!  Caleb loved hanging out with the big kids.  Troy this, Troy that...here are Caleb and Troy enjoying a boat ride.

Deborah with Isabella and Rebecca on the jet ski.

Lenora and Troy after surviving a tube ride.

Alice being sweet. :)

What's going on over there?

Caleb - the only body of water he'll willingly get into...besides the bath tub.  By the end of the summer, it's my goal to see him jump in the lake, even if it's on accident.

Alice, loving on her daddy for Father's Day.

Trust me, the music was exactly as you can imagine it.
