Christmas is Coming!

We're getting ready for Christmas...which has been a scramble with Alice's early arrival. Caleb has loved the holiday season, he loves Christmas lights, snowmen, reindeer, everything Christmas. And I've never really cared for the blown up Christmas lawn decor until this year...we still won't be putting any in our own yard, but it's great driving by houses that do have them out. Caleb is fascinated by them!
And this isn't really Christmas related...it's just a cute one of Caleb laughing as Alice dances.

Welcome Alice Mae!

On Dec. 10th we welcomed our newest family member, Alice Mae. She was born at 7:02 pm, weighed 8 pounds and was 20 inches. Even though we didn't find out the gender, August and I were convinced that we were going to have a boy, so imagine our surprise when we first saw Alice. She is so sweet and we're all doing well. Caleb is doing great with the change and just loves to kiss and watch "baby Olice"...he's still working on his A's. Here are some favorite pictures from the past week and a half.

First Catch

So I have never really fished before in my life. This weekend our friends Ryan and Lauren took us fishing and after spending a day in the boat watching many fish get caught (not by me), I finally caught my first fish back at the dock. Ryan was a good instructor and Lauren set a good example for a lady who knows how to hook a minnow. Here is a picture of me and my first fish.

Fall is here

The leaves are falling and Caleb is enjoying it. He had a great weekend at the lake house, playing in the piles of leaves that Papa created...one man's work is another boy's fun!

Halloween

Caleb was a roaring tiger this year for Halloween. He had a fun filled weekend - first a Halloween party at August's work (where he did not like the haunted boardroom), then a sleepover at Grandma and Papa's (while August and I went to a wedding), and then a night of trick or treating.
LET'S GO!!!
Here are Caleb and August doing their best roar before heading out to hit up our neighbors for...candy! We went to a few houses and Caleb said the obligatory "trick-or-treat and thank you" and did his best roar. He was super cute. And the best part, he doesn't even really like candy. So August and I got to eat it.
Caleb received some roller skates for his birthday. He loves these things and they are actually a pretty good activity for inside...he doesn't go too fast yet. We figured even tigers like to skate.

Caleb turns 2!!

We have a 2 year old! Caleb celebrated in style this year - lots of cupcakes, candles, loving family and friends, and of course showing teeth.
Caleb got a train table for his soon to be new room. Here are all of the engineers setting up the track. It's more complicated than one might think.
Here is Caleb playing with his semi car hauler. So much fun!
Showing teeth again...
A very handsome train engineer.

Visit from G & G

Grandpa and Grandma Kate came to visit last weekend to celebrate Caleb's birthday. We took them to the lake house and spent an afternoon fishing off the dock.
August even caught a fish. According to the fish chart, this was a small white bass. He was very proud.
Here are the men, releasing the fish. Caleb was so fascinated. After the fish was back the water, Caleb kept saying "Fish went home." Hopefully the fish made it home...
We've been practicing "Smile" with Caleb when he gets his picture taken. At this point Caleb will only respond to "Show your teeth." So here is a picture of Grandpa, Caleb, and the pumpkin the carved...all showing their teeth.

Just Fishing

Deborah took this cute picture at the lake last weekend. Caleb has a new fishing pole (with plastic fish attached) so it's a 100% chance he'll catch something everytime...unless Dad casts the line and it breaks... I'll leave out the picture of August quickly jumping into the lake to save the fish.

Random Photos

While cleaning up the camera, I found these few photos.

Nana's Visit

Nana came to visit a couple weekends ago and she played quite a bit of basketball with Caleb. Caleb actually learned to shoot, rather than just dropping the ball into the basket. We had a great visit with Nana. Come back and visit soon - particularly in 10 weeks!

Caleb - Busy around the house

Caleb's baking future is bright...he enjoys making cookies with August. This batch of snickerdoodles was especially delicious.
I've been trying to figure out a way to get more closet space in the house. I like Caleb's idea here...
