Finally some fresh air!

We were able to get out of the house on Sunday and go for a walk. It was beautiful outside!

A week in the life of Caleb

Caleb was up to a lot this past week. He tried on his first tux for our friends Lauren and Ryan's upcoming wedding. Caleb is going to be one of two of the cutest ring bearers this side of the Mississippi!
This is Caleb with his fellow ring bearer Lauren's nephew Danny.
The following pictures are Caleb in a very grown-up button up shirt from cousin Sam. Too cute.
This was just a sweet Caleb moment where he was giving out big hugs.
Caleb pushing his big keyboard box. We unpacked his birthday keyboard and I'm currently working on Chopsticks. I've almost learned both hands!
These slippers are super hard to walk in!
So here's a flash back...Caleb in his chair at about 4 months...

Caleb - Almost 16 months!

Caleb's been getting buff. Right now he's lifting air.
Touch those toes!
Okay so maybe Caleb's not using the barbell just for lifting.
Caleb will now rub his belly and say yum.
Are these two related?
Caleb loves his froggie so so much.
Caleb is getting to be a pro at using utensils.
Grandpa Scott made Caleb and his cousin Sam their own toy boxes for Christmas. They both love playing on and in their toy boxes.
Today we got out of the house and hit the mall for a ride on the merry-go-round. Totally fun!

Caleb is 15 months! He's turning into quite the little boy who is in to everything. August and I are continually amazed by his intelligence...just tonight we were reading a book and when I said the word "more", Caleb made the sign for it. I couldn't believe he signed the word when he wasn't trying to get more food out of us. I know other toddlers are doing these same things...but it's just so amazing when you see your own kid, who a year ago couldn't even sit up, communicating with you! He's just our little super star!
Caleb loves to supervise as we're cooking dinner...
...well really he just likes to snack.
Here is Caleb trying out his birthday bike. It's been so cold here that there isn't a lot of time to play outside, but we do what we can!
A few shots of Caleb playing indoors.
And last but not least, Caleb has been known to eat food off of his tray with no hands...I think he's learned eating with no hands from Molly. Well the other day he was eating Kix like this and got one stuck to his forehead. It was HILARIOUS. This kid has a real knack for getting food stuck to his head, I swear.

Caleb

Caleb has been up to all sorts of things lately. He's full on walking now. Our one wish was that he be walking by Christmas and he made it just under the wire...walking on his own Christmas week. Caleb is also talking a lot more now and using signs to let us know he wants more to eat or that he is all done. It's super cute.

I came home from work on New Years Eve to find my two boys hanging on the couch together, watching Evan Almighty, and eating crackers right out of the box. I mean, who's in charge around here? Pretty sure it's not me...

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

The snow this season has been amazing! It started snowing in Wyoming the Wednesday before Christmas and ever since wherever we are, so is the snow.
Here are a couple pictures of Caleb experiencing the snow for the first time in Casper. This was on Christmas Eve. He wasn't too fond.
Within a couple days it had snow quite a bit more in Casper. But it was very fluffy and beautiful...until it interfered with our plans to get back to Kansas City. August and I braved the roads and Deborah, Daniel, and Caleb braved the airport...and we all made it back safe and sound.

So we had heard that there was plenty of snow back in Kansas City as well, but it seems that we never get as much as Wyoming and if we do, it melts quickly. So on the ride back to Kansas City I suggested to August that we shovel the driveway when we get back to KC...keep things cleaned up so it wouldn't ice over later under the car tracks. Well as if we had a choice...this is what we were greeted with after a 2 day car trip...feel free to spend a while shoveling!
The snow here has been nuts! None of it has melted and we've had some pretty big snows since this picture. We just aren't used to the length of time it's been so cold and so snowy. And now the Patterson's have the bright idea to head off to Vail next week for some winter sports. Might as well make the most of the weather!

Christmas in Wyoming

We had a great Christmas in Wyoming this year. Caleb got to spend lots of time with both sides of our family and of course with cousin Sam. We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season!
Wrestling with cousin Sam.
Just playing around.
In these photos Caleb is commanding all of us to do what he says...arms up!
